We found this at a Japanese restaurant downtown. We were so happy and surprised that we took a picture of it!
Libby & Lynn were excited to see their lessons being promoted in the Vancouver Shinpo!
Have you heard of the Vancouver Shinpo? It’s a free Japanese language newspaper about Vancouver life and events. You can take one for free at coffee shops, restaurants, and other places around town. Or check it out online at:
We think you can find a lot of great information in this newspaper, so please take a look! Maybe you’ll learn something new about Vancouver that you didn’t know before.

When the sun finally comes out in Van, one of my favorite things to do is head to Jericho Beach. It’s rarely warm enough to swim, but it’s always nice to sit on the patio at The Galley and eat nachos! For $16, you get 18 inches of pure, gooey, nacho-ey goodness that simply must be shared with friends. It’s the perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy a spectacular view of beautiful Vancouver.

Beautiful Jericho Beach
Check out the Galley’s website, and make sure to take advantage of every sunny day we have!
We went to the Barefoot Contessa on 3715 Main Street this weekend. They have a Commercial Drive location too.
It is the cutest store we’ve ever seen!
If you love fashion, this is the store for you!
We had so much fun trying on clothes. One of the best parts is that if the staff likes your fashion, you get 15% off! We got a great deal.
Lovely outfits for warm weather.
The summer dresses were especially wonderful.
Bags and sunglasses
Mixing scarves. We loved it.
We highly recommend checking out the Barefoot Contessa this summer. If you do, make sure you take some pictures and send them to us!
Check out their website for more information, their blog, and lots of photos!
Here is our first Libby and Lynn Vancouver Recommendation!
Recently my mom and I checked out Queen Elizabeth Park and the Bloedel Floral Conservatory. We wanted to recommend this beautiful park to anyone who loves the outdoors and sightseeing, or just nature in general.
It’s a nice walk up the hill to Queen Elizabeth Park. Right now the park has beautiful flowers everywhere you look! The view of the city is fantastic, too. You can see all the way to North Van.
After walking in the garden we went into the conservatory. It’s so cheap – less than 6$ to go in! It’s small, but really beautiful and educational. We met lots of colourful birds too. It was a really great memory.

I hope you visit it and enjoy it as much as I did!
We are adding a new section to our blog. It’s called “Libby and Lynn’s Vancouver Recommendations”. It’s a list of places and things we would recommend to see and do in the Vancouver area.
We want our wonderful students to be able to experience a great time while they are in Vancouver – and as cheaply as possible too
If you have any suggestions or photos, please email them to:
We would love to feature some of your ideas too!
Stay tuned for more details…

Have you heard of the online newspaper, Vancouver Is Awesome?
It’s a great site that talks about fun, exciting and CHEAP things to do in Vancouver.
Lynn and Libby went for lunch recently with one of the authors, Andrea Loewen. She wrote about a great restaurant downtown called the The Famous Warehouse. Check it out! All food is only $4.95!
